School Opens for all pupils in Years R to 5
Westfield is a happy and successful school with a welcoming atmosphere. We have caring and dedicated staff who want our children to succeed. The learning environment is spacious and attractive and we have well-designed grounds, a large playing field and a nature reserve.
We have been declared OUTSTANDING by Ofsted - the proportion of state schools in England rated 'outstanding' is only 9%.
"Westfield First School provides an outstanding education for its pupils. A potent combination of excellent teaching and leadership, together with pupils' very positive attitudes and eagerness to learn, is the key to the school's success." OFSTED
Our Governing Body is very supportive and the Westfield First School Association (W1SPA) is very active in raising funds for the school.
Our aim is to make your child's stay here happy, productive and memorable. The following documents are available to download:

Berkhamsted School Re-organisation
On the 24th September 2012, Hertfordshire County Council Cabinet agreed to change the education provision in Berkhamsted from the present Three-Tier system, introduced in 1972, to the more conventional Two-Tier system. However, it should be noted that the decision to proceed is conditional upon the success of the proposals to enlarge the premises of St Mary's and Potten End First Schools and any town planning consents required.
The next few years will see many changes to the education provision in the town as the first, middle and upper schools change their age ranges.
Westfield First School will become a one-form primary school from September 2014.
